3 Ingredient Mango Margarita

This delicious, refreshing 3-ingredient mango margarita is the ultimate and easiest summer cocktail! Delicious and refreshing, it comes together in just 5 minutes. And, let’s be honest, there’s never a time when a margarita doesn’t sound like a good idea!

2 glasses of mango margarita with ice, lemon, and mint.

I just love cocktails with fresh fruits, be it a pomegranate mimosa, a cherry gin and tonic, or a pomegranate mojito. Cold and perfectly sweet, they’re like a tropical vacation! A good margarita is a happy mix of all three.

That’s why I love this 3-ingredient mango margarita recipe. It mixes fresh, juicy mango flavor with some exquisite tequila and a hint of paprika-salt on the glass rim.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

✨The fruity, citrusy, and boozy drink needs only 3 ingredients! No fancy syrups, no hard-to-find liqueurs. Just simple stuff you probably already have at home.

✨The refreshing, subtly spiced, and seriously delicious cocktail is ready in 5 minutes, perfect for a lazy day.

✨It’s easily customizable. You can make a mango margarita on the rocks or frozen, or even add fruits.

Mango Margarita Ingredients

Mango: I used mango juice to make this margarita. If you can get your hands on fresh mango juice, excellent; otherwise, use the regular packaged juice. Mango puree works too (fresh or canned).

Tequila: Pick the best quality tequila you can get. A well-made and aged tequila is smooth with agave flavors. Its taste is earthy, very mildly peppery with suggestions of citrus and tiny fruity notes. A good margarita is one that brings all these flavours into the drink.

Garnish: Chili salt on the rim elevates everything! Trust me on it. However, the paprika is optional if you don’t want a spicy mango margarita.

See the recipe card for full information about the ingredients and quantities.

Variations

Triple sec or Cointreau: Either or both are added in a classic margarita. So, please mix them in if you want.

Frozen mangoes: Use frozen mangoes in place of mango juice. Blend all the ingredients in a blender to make a frozen mango margarita!

Fruits: Don't want to use mangoes? Try pineapple, watermelon (do try watermelon iced tea next), peaches, or strawberries. Of course, it won’t be a mango margarita then, but it’ll still be a fantastic cocktail.

Lemon: If you like a bit of tang to your cocktail, add freshly squeezed lemon juice. It balances the sweetness of the mango and brings that classic margarita zing.

How To Serve

Any good cocktail is best served chilled. I love to serve the mango margarita on the rocks with a mint leaf and a lemon wedge. The clash of bright green, fresh yellow, and summery orange looks just so beautiful. The hint of red from the paprika rounds off the effect!

The 3-ingredient cocktail is perfect for lazy brunches – serve it with Mexican rice or loaded potato nachos! Or with tacos and smashed potatoes on a weekend barbecue. I love to pair it with chips dipped in creamy avocado dip or roasted red pepper sauce.

Recipe FAQs

What's in a mango margarita cocktail?

Typically, a mango margarita has tequila, mango, lime juice, and ice. Triple sec or Cointreau is also added. This recipe doesn’t include them because I love this simple version so much!

How to rim a glass for margaritas?

Spread some salt on a plate. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of your glass. Dip in margarita salt until coated. I used a combination of paprika and sea salt for this recipe.

What is the 321 rule for margaritas?

The 3-2-1 rule is a classic margarita ratio that keeps the flavors balanced. For every 3 parts of tequila, add 2 parts Triple Sec or Cointreau and 1 part lime juice.
